December 22, 2022The Grotto in Newbury Park is the newest and best. It will have a touch of magic for all the family. There will be entertainment, festive activities, and of course the aforementioned grotto. And of course, the usual suspects like Santa and Mrs Claus.
Aside from the grotto, the new park offers fun for all the family. Take a ride on the Reindeer Railway, or enjoy a family outing in the Winter Wonderland. For those who prefer to stay dry, you can take a stroll along the water’s edge. Whether you are into shopping, eating, or simply exploring, the town of Newbury Park has something for everyone.
Another shin-bones worthy event is the Panto Express. Held on selected dates throughout the year, it is a festive event featuring carollers, horse and carriage rides, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Besides the Panto, you can also take in the sights at the nearby Hungerford antiques market.
The grotto may be a bit of a stretch, but you can get a lot of Christmas cheer for a small price. Not only does the park have a grotto, but it also has a reindeer feeding experience, or so says the locals. If you have little ones, this may be just the thing for you.
In addition to the aforementioned grotto, you can also visit Santa at the nearby Dobbies Garden Centre. Also at this location is a ‘quiet grotto’ for the adults in your group. To top it off, the park also has a Christmas tree which is quite the showpiece.
Aside from the grotto, there is also a courtesy boat trip . The trip lasts about an hour, and will give your child a chance to see the best of Greenham Land. At the end of it all, your child will receive a gift from the man in red himself. While you are on the boat, you will also be treated to a hot drink and mince pies for the adults. This is the perfect way to ring in the holidays.
Lastly, if you are interested in seeing the town at its merriest, you can always visit the Winter Carnival. This ‘free’ event will be held on the first weekend of December, and will feature the best of both worlds, with a grotto as well as a panto on the bill.
Hopefully, you’ll have a good time and you’ll be able to take home a santa hat or two! After all, a visit with the man in red is a big deal. Getting there is the easy part. Plus, the park is situated on the aforementioned Wayfarers Way, which means you’ll be greeted by lovely views of the surrounding North Hampshire countryside. Moreover, you’ll be able to sample some of the area’s finest craft ales and homegrown specialties.
All in all, the town of Newbury Park is a great place to spend your holidays, to the magical Winter Wonderland, there are plenty of things to see and do.
